The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act – US Stimulus Package to Jumpstart the Economy

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (The Act) is an unprecedented effort to jumpstart our economy, create or save millions of jobs, and begin to address long-neglected challenges so our country can thrive in the 21st century.

As funds from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act are disbursed across the country, new job and career opportunities are being created. The Act includes federal tax cuts, expansion of unemployment benefits and other social welfare provisions, and domestic spending in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, including the energy sector.

The Act also provides state and local fiscal relief which helps prevent cuts to health and education programs and state and local tax increases. Four strategic sectors will receive money targeted for job creation, either directly or indirectly: energy, infrastructure, education and healthcare.
