The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. In Chicago in June, Monster demonstrated how we are transforming from a “job board” to a life improvement engine and a true career management resource to thousands of HR professionals who attended SHRM. Monster and Employers like the New York City Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT) are helping to rebuild the American workforce one Job Seeker at a time. DoITT Human Resources Division felt that Monster’s Keep America Working Tour career fair in NY was a good solution to expose DoITT opportunities to a larger audience of candidates from all walks of life. DoITT's Human Resources Division knew the volume of Job Seekers would be large and hoped they would be able to identify some people they could bring in for follow-up interviews.
This job fair successfully matched Alexandria Rice and Mark Hermansen, Director of IT Recruitment/Initiatives. Following the fair, Alexandria was offered (and accepted) a position as a 311 Call Center Representative.
